Accessibility Statement

Our commitment

Fishers Finery is working to make fishersfinery.com accessible to as many people as possible, including people with disabilities. This is ongoing work, and we treat accessibility as part of how we build and maintain the site rather than as a one-time project.

Conformance status

We are working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. These guidelines are published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and are the standard most widely referenced in accessibility law.

fishersfinery.com is currently partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. This means some parts of the site do not yet fully meet the standard. We are aware of these gaps and are actively working through them.

What we're doing

  • Running automated accessibility scans of the site on a recurring basis.
  • Testing manually with screen readers and keyboard-only navigation.
  • Reviewing accessibility as part of new design and development work.
  • Using semantic HTML, meaningful alt text, sufficient color contrast, visible focus indicators, and keyboard-operable controls.

Known limitations

Despite these efforts, some content on fishersfinery.com may not yet be fully accessible. Known areas include:

  • Third-party content and tools. Some features on our site are provided by outside vendors, and we do not control their code. We report issues to these vendors and evaluate alternatives when problems are not addressed.
  • Checkout. Our checkout is hosted and controlled by Shopify, and we are not able to modify it directly. If you encounter a barrier during checkout, please contact us and we will help you complete your order another way.
  • Older content. Some older blog posts, images, or product media may lack complete alternative text. We are correcting these as we identify them.
